Society Development Center (SODEC) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization established in June 2000 in Sankhuwasabha, Nepal. SODEC works to empower rural and marginalized communities by promoting socio-economic development, strengthening local institutions, and improving access to essential services such as education, health, safe drinking water, agriculture, forestry, and environmental protection.
Since September 2000, SODEC has reached more than 20,000 households across Sankhuwasabha, Surkhet, Dailekh, and Nuwakot districts. Through community-based programs, awareness initiatives, and institutional support, SODEC is committed to creating inclusive, resilient, and sustainable communities while promoting human rights, peace, and social harmony.
